Life drawing and a keen interest in drawing and painting in the early 60s, then under the direction of Sir Robin Philipson, saw Mike Shepley interacting with fellow contemporary Edinburgh College of Art students, including John Bellany, Alexander Moffat, Bill Gillon and Gordon Bryce.
Mike has spent much of the last 30 years in the Middle East, based in UAE, running his multi-media production company, writing and painting, including winning the DIAC Dubai International Art Centre’s Gold Medal and Watercolour challenge.
Mike returned to Scotland in 2013 and now lives in Edinburgh, where he concentrates on his painting, which is attracting considerable interest from collectors, critics and the media. He also donates paintings on a regular basis to various charities.
