The guiding principles for George’s paintings and architectural work evolved during his training in design and classical architecture at the Scott-Sutherland School of Architecture in Aberdeen.
Architecturally George enjoys exploring innovative solutions which create “a feeling of delight and a sense of place”. This requires research and observation analysing information through film, sketches and painting. These precepts have formed the basis for the successful realisation of projects throughout the UK which have received both design and business awards.
In his painting, of life and landscapes, George enjoys searching for the play of light, colour and pattern which he feels express the personality and character of the subject. George has held solo exhibitions in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London and participated in many group exhibitions around Scotland and with the SSAA in Paris, Venice and Stuttgart.
