Born in Kirkcaldy and educated at Kirkcaldy High School Andy studied Architecture at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, University of Dundee where he received a B.Sc. and top student award in 1976, followed by a B.Arch. in 1979.
Andy joined the distinguished Broughty Ferry architectural practice of Robbie + Wellwood, and subsequently Nicoll Russell Studios in 1982, becoming a partner in 1989 in Charge of IT and CAD Development, but with special interest in pub, club and restaurant branding and interior design.
As a Past President of Dundee Institute of Architects DIA, and past member of the ARB/RIBA Scottish Architectural Schools Visiting Board, Andy is not only a committed Architect and busy practicioner he is also an extremely dedicated and capable Artist with experience in working in both 2D and 3D.
Andy is a keen sketcher and enjoys producing his art-works ‘en plein air’ which gives a particular vitality to the watercolours.
