Alan Cameron is a Scottish artist whose main areas of work are the landscapes of Scotland and Italy along with portraiture. His first thematic solo exhibition was in 1984 when the main strands of this work were set. Alan's work is figurative and interpretative and seeks to capture the essential ingredients of his subjects; their form, texture, colour and temperature.
Commissions are an important area of work which allows a special relationship to be built between patron and artist. Subjects can vary widely, and are generally of special or personal interest or value to the patron. Commissions are carried out for corporate and private clients.
Pieces are produced in a variety of media and are shown in photographic illustration in the following Gallery pages. Alan has also enjoyed a varied career as an architect and landscape architect, which in concert with art, has allowed a creative balance of design for the present and future with interpretation of what is already there. Alan is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee and The University of Edinburgh.
